Chiropractic in Griffin

Hands-on assessment and treatment for back and neck pain, disc injuries, sciatica and headaches.

Chiropractor assessing a patient's spine

Chiropractic alongside your GP

Dr Ted Alen Reataza consults from Griffin Medical Centre on Mondays, with Thursdays by appointment. Having chiropractic care in the same building as your GP means back and neck problems can be assessed medically and manually without you chasing referrals across town, and your GP stays informed about your treatment.

Dr Ted uses the Gonstead method, which relies on careful examination of a specific joint before any adjustment is made, rather than treating the whole spine by default.

Conditions treated

Common reasons patients are referred or self-refer include:

  • Neck, mid-back and lower back pain, acute or long-standing
  • Disc bulges and disc injuries
  • Sciatica and referred leg pain
  • Degenerative joint disease and wear-and-tear changes
  • Headaches with a neck component
  • Shoulder conditions including rotator cuff pain and frozen shoulder
  • Tennis elbow, golfer's elbow and carpal tunnel symptoms
  • Hip, knee and ankle pain, sprains and strains
  • Posture assessment, home exercises and self-management advice

What to expect and what it costs

A first visit is mostly assessment: history, movement testing, orthopaedic and neurological checks, and imaging referral if it is clinically warranted. Treatment follows only once the source of the problem is clear, and you will be given exercises to do between visits.

Chiropractic is a private service and is not bulk billed, though patients with a GP Management Plan and Team Care Arrangement may be eligible for Medicare-subsidised visits. Private health rebates apply depending on your cover. Ask reception for current fees.
